Swiss Television Award opens the Rose d'Or Festival 2012
The Rose d’Or Festival and Axel Springer Schweiz AG have come together to present the Swiss Television Award. The this year's ceremony will take place at the KKL Lucerne on May 6, 2012 as the first event of the Rose d’Or Festival.
The Swiss Television Award was launched by Axel Springer AG in 2007. The award honours outstanding national achievement in the categories of Film, Broadcast, Innovation and Personality. In addition, each year a leading figure of the Swiss television industry is recognised with a Lifetime Achievement Award. The media partners of the Swiss Television Awards are Blick and Tele.
A meaningful partnership
This collaboration for the Swiss Television Awards is hugely beneficial both to the Rose d’Or AG and Axel Springer Switzerland. Marco Castellaneta, Chairman of the Rose d'Or AG board said: "As the most important event for the Swiss national Television industry, the Awards will be a real asset to the Rose d’Or Festival programme." Festival Director Markus Helbling adds: "This collaboration will further raise the national profile of our international festival for entertainment television." Jörg Tobuschat, Publishing director of Programming and Business Media at Axel Springer Switzerland, emphasizes the significance of the collaboration between two media enterprises Axel Springer and Ringier, parent company of the Rose d'Or AG: "This collaboration will both strengthen the already successful partnership between Axel Springer and Ringier Switzerland, and bring together two of the most prestigious events in entertainment television."
New venue
Previously held at the Maag Event Hall in Zurich, the partnership between The Rose d’Or AG and Axel Springer Switzerland will bring the Swiss Television Awards to a new venue at the KKL Lucerne. The Awards will be presented for the first time in their new home on May 6, 2012 as the opening event of the Rose d’Or Festival.
