About Rose d'Or
The Rose d’Or Festival, held annually in Lucerne, Switzerland, draws the best of the year's entertainment and television programming. With more than 40 countries participating, the festival has become one of the most important networking platforms for the onscreen entertainment community, and as such attracts leading figures from the industry, providing a unique opportunity for discussion, debate and behind-the-scenes deal making.
Newest programmes are sent from all around the world and an international jury is given the task narrowing the field to select the nominees, and finally the winners.
Throughout its history, the festival's goal has always been to reward originality, quality and creativity in entertainment programming, and to encourage excellence in television and new media. Each year, the Rose d'Or offers its delegates the opportunity to view all entered programmes in the Film Kiosk.
The Rose d’Or Festival Conference Programme promotes a free exchange of knowledge and ideas, inviting leading figures of the industry to present their insights into programme making. The topics of the conferences focus on the latest trends of the business, providing a platform for thought-provoking discussion.
From the Opening Ceremony through to the grand finale of the Awards Ceremony, business can be combined with pleasure in a fun and friendly atmosphere. A regular festival highlight is the Boat Cruise around Lake Lucerne - a get-together event amidst stunning alpine scenery, as well as the Comedy Night - an evening of laughter with high class comedians.
At the Networking Lounge fellow professionals can be met and the discussion from the latest conferences continued, before joining old friends and new acquaintances in the Rose d’Or Bar.
The 50th Rose d’Or Festival will take place in autumn, from September 18-22, 2010. The main festival centre will be at the Hotel Schweizerhof, and the anniversary will culminate with the Awards Ceremony on September 22 at the Culture and Convention Centre Lucerne, KKL.
